I finished my lighthouse!

I'm so excited, I finished my lighthouse! This is a pattern from Jim, The Gentleman Crafter  Jim did a lighthouse quite a while ago (2 years to be exact) and we have been hounding him to do a pattern for it. The great guy that he is, he came thru for us and made the pattern.
It was a challenge to do, but I did it, and I love it, Here are pictures of the front and back of the lighthouse.

You can buy Jims pattern at his Etsy shop HERE
I used Graphic 45's paper collection:By The Sea for most of the project. I wanted the lighthouse body to have a old wood look to it, so I found a paper that was white and looked like wood grain, I used TH distress inks to color it an off white and red.
The base of the project has a drawer in it to store your goodies. I used real sand and shells to decorate it. I found this cute lawn chair at Michaels and added a note in a bottle. Click on the pics. to make larger!

I put a couple of my own touches on the lighthouse. I added a clasp to close up the back and added a door.

On the tower I used a wooden fence that I bought from JoAnn. I also added a hinge to the light so I can turn on the little tealight easier, than I added a clasp to the front.

The fun part of the project is that there is a SURPRISE, it all comes apart, and there is a mini book inside!

The book is made using skewers and it is Jims own creation. The man has so much talent! You must check out his blog.
Please let me know what you think, I love to hear your comments, Shari
