Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting. I've been babysitting for my cousin and her husband while they are in Ireland and I also went camping for 4 days up north. The camping was great, we had a few thunderstorms but we got a lot of boating in. My parents and brother and family and sister and family all went, so we spent some great family time together. I have 2 more days with the kids staying at their house then I can get back home and hopefully get some crafting done. Hopefully I'll have something to share soon. Take care, Shari

I feel terrible!

I made a few cards last night

Hello everyone! I though I'd share a few cards I made last night with you.

My sweet cousin Tricia sent me a package yesterday with all kinds of rubber stamps. Thank you Tricia, your too sweet! I made a few cards with them last night.

Her and her mom Pat sent me a rooster watering can for my collection of chickens and roosters, it's so cute. I'm going to send a couple of these cards to them. Have a great day! Shari

My daughter says I'm nuts! I made a purse out of grunge paper

Yes, she thinks I've lost it, Why would you make a purse out of paper? Because I can, was my answer. I'm loving this Tim Holtz grunge paper. It reminds me so much of leather, I can't quit using it.

It took me some time, but I figured out how to make a purse pattern, I wanted something big enough to use and the cricut would only cut little purses. This purse is made with 2 sheets of 12x12 grunge paper. It measures 5 1/4" high x 10"wide x 2" thick. I inked it with Tim Holtz distress inks. The purse is tea dye and the edges are vintage photo.

I bought this Awesome set of rubber stamps by Oxford Impressions at my local SS and stamped images all over the purse. I took a couple of images from Tim Holtz paper and cut them out and used glossy accents on them. I made the flowers out of old piano books and used glossy accents on them also. I used old lace on the front, a magnet closure and added a Tim Holtz swivel clasp with a key and a tag I made out of the grunge paper. I'm not sure about the tape measure for the handle, what do you think?

I also think it needs more, possibly my initials out of scrabble tiles on the back? More charms etc. I'd love your opinion, and I love your comments.

I probably will use it occasionally with just a few things in it. HA!

More Neck Pouches

I made some more Neck Pouches today. I went to my local scrapbooking store and got some Tim Holtz Grunge Paper. This stuff is wonderful, after inking it, it reminds me of leather. My favorite is the one with the clock on the front. I cut it out of graphic 45 paper and used glossy accents to make it shiny. NECK POUCH

I've been playing around tonight making a Neck Pouch. Laura from Following the paper trail, had this cool idea posted on her blog today for What's up Wednesday. She is so super talented, if you've never been to her blog before you have to check it out.

I wanted to try this, but didn't have any Grunge paper. That's what Laura used. I made a prototype with cereal boxes covered with paper. It a little too stiff, so I'm off to find some grunge paper tomorrow to make another one.

What do you do with these? Well, Laura had her purse stolen recently at a scrappin event, and came up with this Grunge Paper Neck Pouch to wear around her neck to hold her money, credit card and i.d.

I love how cute this turned out, and can't wait to make one with the grunge paper by Tim Holtz. Let me know what you think and don't forget to check out Following the paper trail. Thanks Laura!

My first paint can ( DON'T FORGET MY BLOG CANDY, SCROLL DOWN TO ENTER!

I decorated my first paint can! My cousins are here from Washington and we had a paint can decorating party. It was alot of fun, there were nine of us, we ate and decorated paint cans. Thanks Pat and Tricia for showing us how to do this!!!

I've been saving this paper, it was to pretty to use. It is prima (strawberry kisses collection, the flowers are prima and the butterflies are k & co. I put a key on the side with a Tim Holtz swivel clasp and shrunk a stamped image of a dress form to put on it. Let me know if you like it. Shari

We're Home!

What a long drive! (The worst part of the vacation. )It's good to be home and see my Maggie Mae, she looks like she's grown in the 11 days we were gone.

I thought I'd show you what I did in the car on the way down and back. My 17 yr. old daughter drove a good portion of the trip, my husband rode in the front with her.I sat in the back seat and made FLOWERS! I crocheted and made ribbon flowers, here are some of the trays I did. This is me in the backseat showing my flowers. Click on the picture to see the image larger. I'm stocked up for a while. HA!

I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight, I'll post pics. of the trip this weekend. Shari

OUR LAST NIGHT

Tonight is our last night in Savannah! Bummer, our vacation is coming to a close. We spent the last two days on Tybee Island at the Ocean. Beautiful!!! It was so relaxing, we swam, boogie boarded and even saw dolphins. I had never seen a dolphin before and was so surprised to see them at what seemed like 20 ft. from us swimming. IT WAS AWESOME!!!
We're starting our drive home in the a.m. We'll take 2 days to get from Georgia to Michigan. (16
hour drive, YUCK Our vacation was fabulous, I took lots of pictures and will do some layouts and post pics. when I get home.
I'm really looking forward to seeing my little girl Maggie Mae, (our dog) I've really missed her. I'll talk to Y'all (ha!) when I get back home. Shari

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!

I wanted to wish everyone a happy 4th of July. We're having a great time on our vacation. The fireworks were awesome on Stone Mountain! Best I've ever seen!!!! I hope you all had a great weekend. We're off to the Aquarium in the a.m. and then off to Savannah. What a great vacation, the family reunion was fabulous, I got to visit with a lot of relatives I haven't seen in a long time. It's hard to say goodbye! I'm so thankful. Shari

A couple last minute projects

I made my cousin a bouquet today for hosting the reunion on the 4th of July. I also decided to finish up another family mini book, like the one in an earlier post. It was a busy, busy day, packing and fitting in these projects. One more day to work and then we leave tomorrow evening and I can relax for 10 days. I've been told that there is an Archivers and AC Moore where we are going in Georgia. I've never been to either and am excited to check them out while vacationing. I'll see you all in a couple of weeks! Shari

REUNION FAVORS

We're leaving Tuesday for a family reunion in Georgia. I got this bright idea of making favor bags for everyone. This is what I've been doing all day. I made 40 toppers and my wonderful sister helped me stuff them. I used the cricut with the markers and put Pierson (my mom's family name) on the back and decorated the front. The reunion is on the 4th. 1 job I'm glad to be done with! Leave me a comment, I love comments! Shari

My Father's Day Card

This is the card I made for my dad. He's been a fisherman for years. He truely is #1 dad. HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD, I love you.
I used my gypsy and Animal Kingdom cartridge, I copy and pasted the fish and flipped it, I then welded it to make the card. I cut it out of kraft cardstock, the layer was cut with Tim Holtz lost and found paper. I ran it thru the cuttlebug with the houndstooth folder to make it look like fish scales. I inked all the edges. I used a Tim Holtz memo pin to hold the #1 dad sign. The eye is a tiny google eye. Let me know if you like it. Shari

FRIENDS

Hello everyone!
Finally I got a chance to get some scrapping done. I recently won a RAK from Robin and told her I'd make something with some of the many goodies she sent me. Here it is Robin. I used the chipboard accent tree, the friend layered sticker, the metal accents for the centers of the flowers, some of the pretty blue buttons and finally I embossed the bird with the antique linen embossing powder and used glossy accents on top. I'm back from the Special Olympics!

I was in Mt. Pleasant the last couple of days at the Special Olympics. My nephew Jeffrey competed. He won a gold medal!!!! It was awesome and we had a great time. Hopefully with the rummage sale over I'll be able to get some crafting in this week. Have a great day! Shari

I've been crocheting flowers!

I'm in another swap on the cricut message board. This one is home-made flowers. I send 5 flowers for 8 people and I get 40 back. I finally finished them and sent them out today, I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with.
I'm going to the Special Olympics tomorrow morning for a couple of days. My nephew Jeff has Down Syndrome and will be bowling, I'm going to cheer him on. Maybe now that my flowers are done I'll get some crafting done next week. Have a great weekend everyone!! Shari

This is why I've been MIA

Sorry I haven't posted in so long. I've been busy with my Garage Sale. I was up at 2a.m. making Garage Sale signs. It was pretty quick too. I used my Gypsy and typed in what I wanted on my sign. Removed the blade from my cricut and replaced it with a marker. After that was done I took a wide marker and colored it in. They look much nicer than the signs you can buy. I have another day tomorrow of my Sale and then were going up north for a couple of days to enjoy the Memorial Weekend. Shari
