Hello, is anyone still following me??? I'm so sorry I've been MIA for quite some time, but I'M BACK.... Life does get in the way, but I've been making a few projects, I just haven't had time to post to my blog. My bad!!

Recently I was in a swap at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AllThingsTim/ We were to make a 18 pages 6x6 dressed for a party chunky book pages. We were to take the Tim Holtz dress form and dress it for a party. I really had a good time making these pages.

For my page I used TH vintage shabby paper and pages from an old piano book I found at a garage sale. I put silver metal tape on chipboard and cut out the dress form using my vagabond. I then embossed the bottom portion of the dress form with the swiss dots folder, I used latte alcohol ink to color it. A cream colored eyelet lace was used for her skirt and pink satin pleated ribbon was used for her top I used cotton balls to give her a bust.

I found the cute New Year baby at http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/ I used a program and cut out the background. I then put the image on a TH clock sticker and scanned the image and printed it out 18 times. I sprayed the image with goose bumps for a funky texture. For the hand that points to midnight I used TH pen nib.

The Happy New Year sign was computer generated and cut out with the TH mini label die. On this project I used TH distress inks, vintage photo and tea dye. Liquid pearls was used for her necklace, the tiny rose is from I am roses and sprayed with Tattered Angels cream de rouge.

My Baby Graduated!!!

I'm so sorry I haven't posted in so long, This summer has been so busy!

My daughter Deni Graduated 10th in her class, and we couldn't be prouder!!!!! We threw her a party at our home with 150 people in attendance. We spent a lot of time getting things ready making favors etc. But it turned out to be a great party, a good time was had by all.

I made ribbons for all of us to wear to the graduation with her picture on them. I got the idea from Tammy at tammyskinner.com. Thanks so much for the great idea Tammy, everyone loved them.

I also made sour cream favors with her school paper and purple and gold card stock. It took forever to do 150, but they were a big hit

My Mothers Day Card

I thought I'd share my Mothers Day card I made for my Mom.

I cut the dress form and thread with my Tim Holtz sewing room die out of a coke can! I can't believe how easy it was to cut with my Vegabond, like butta!! I then ran it thou his texture fade, pattern and stitches set, then I colored it with copper paint dabber. I decorated it with some lace and attached twine to my thread spool. The punch I used was one of Martha Stewarts.

I think this qualifies for a couple of challenges.

I made something!!!

Finally, it's been a month since my scrap room flooded and I finally have it all back together. I'm so happy to be able to do a little crafting. We insulated, the drywall is up and walls are painted. It was a big job, but well worth it. I'll do a video or post pictures in the next couple of days.

On to my tag. I did alot of shopping in the month I couldn't create and one of the things I bought was the Tim Holtz sewing room die. While I was preparing dinner today, I put a turkey breast in the roticary and while I was removing the nylon net that covers it, I had a a-ha moment. HA! I saw a skirt for my dress form die.

I cut the tag out of some kraft card stock and distressed the edges with my new distrezz-it-all, inked the edges, cut the dress form and after inking applied the skirt. I love it!! The sentiment is one of Tim's and the stamp is from Great Impressions I just got from my LSS. I dyed the pink seam binding with some pink bubble gum glimmer mist and crinkled it up.

I think this will work for Simon says stamp challenge Distressing.

WHAT A WEEKEND

My husband and I went down to the University of Michigan again with our daughter for another tour and a meeting. Deni my baby, she'll be 18 in June, loves this college. After checking it out for the 4th time, she finally committed! She's officially a student in the fall at the U of M!!!! We put down our deposit and made it official. She's spent so much time touring colleges and researching them all and this is where she feels she should be. I'm so happy for her and know she'll do well, but I'll miss her so much!!!! Here are a couple of pictures of Deni and Maggie Mae, our dog. She also went with us and loved it.

As far as being crafty, my scrap room is still not back together. We got all the water cleaned up from the flood, but since the basement was tore up we decided to drywall and insulate. The drywall is hung but now has to be finished. What a mess!! It will all be worth it in the long run, but I'm going nuts, waiting to work in my space, I miss crafting!

WHAT A MESS!!!

I thought I'd share what I've been doing. No not having a good time scrapping and creating, but cleaning up a big mess. We woke up Thursday morning to a flooded basement! Our sump pump stopped working and we've been cleaning up for the last four days.
You want to know the worst part of it? My scrapping room is down there!!!!! I was very, very lucky. I don't think any of my treasures were ruined! Thank God!!
This was a real wake-up call for us. We've been buying shelves and organizing everything. Our basement was finished but we just had the cement blocks painted. So my husband had this bright idea to build walls inside the cement blocks and drywall the basement. This way it will look more homey and we can insulate. I'm sure it's going to take some time, since we are doing it all ourselves. My husband turns 58 Tues. and I'm 51 and we don't get as much done as we used to. We built the house 11 years ago and had all sorts of ambition. Not any more! Ha!!
So needless to say I won't be crafting for quite some time. I'm so bummed, but in the long run my space will be much nicer. I plan on taking a little more of the basement when everything is put back together. I'll make sure and post pictures of my studio when it's finished.

My daughters project

My daughter is a senior in high school and had to make a brochure for one of her classes. She used to scrap with me when she was younger but it's been along time. I'm so proud of her project, she wanted it to look aged and rouged. She crumbled up the card stock and inked it. I love the way it turned out, I hope she gets an A. What do you think?

Another Challenge

I was fortunate enough to be picked for Challenge #33 on All Things Tim group last week, so I thought I'd give it another try.

This week is Challenge # 34 Create your own art using the Dimensional Collage Fragments technique. Found on pg. 63 in Tim Holtz book A Compendium of Curiosities.

I used the largest fragment and stamped several images of sewing stamps. The background is an old bible page. This is a fun technique and I'm sure I'll be trying more of it.

The next step was what to do with the fragment. I decided to make a new button box for all of my old buttons that had been passed down from my Grandma. I bought this plain box at Hobby Lobby and covered it with paper.

I cut the word buttons out of Tim's paper and added a old thimble,a needle threader and one of Grandma's old buttons. I used a rub-on for the dress form. I personally think it needs more, but more dear daughter says I always add to much.

I think this qualifies for the Challenge # 34 at Studio L3

Look at my Tim Holtz Tag

I've been watching all the tags that have been posted on some of the blogs I follow and I finally tried one.

I used kraft card stock to punch out the tag with my new tag die from Sizzix. I then clear embossed a fabric stamp and covered over it with distress inks.

I made the wing with a great technique that I learned from Roni at: inkstainswithroni.blogspot.com she has a great tutorial on her blog, I'll definitely be doing more of this technique.

I used a key for my base and some lace to make a little flower under the clock face I cut out of Tim's paper and added hands and glossy accents. I used some of Tim's corner on the bottom of the tag.

I also tried a new technique of dying seam binding with alcohol inks for the ribbon on top.

Finally I added a Tim Holtz key that I used alcohol inks to age it.

I'm going to enter my tag in simonsaysstampchallenge for a coffee and cream challenge.

And also studioL3 alcohol inks on metal the Compendium Challenge #33

Charm Swap

I was in a charm swap at ATT (All Things Tim) a great group I belong to. I posted my charm back a few posts, mine is the dominoe front and center with the lady head on it. I thought I'd share a picture of all the charms I received back. Are they AWESOME or what? I can't believe the different variety and the talent all these people have. Great Job Everyone! I strung them all on a chain, I don't know weather I'm going to wear it or display it in my craft room.

Another First, Paper Beads!

My mom has been making necklaces out of paper beads for a couple of months now and she showed me how to make them. They really are easy but a little to tedious for me. I like the looks of the finished necklace though.

The brown beads were bought and I added my home made charm.

The cream colored beads on the necklace were all made out of pages in an old bible I got at a rummage sale. This is what it starts out like:

My first Charm Swap

I thought I'd try something different and entered into a Charm Swap. I belong to the group AllThingsTim and this swap looked interesting to me. I'm really getting into the Tim look! I've never made a charm in my life, but after a little research this is what I came up with. I bought blank dominoes at my LSS and drilled a hole in the top to and put a wire in to hang the charm. ( I added a little glossy accents to make sure it stayed.) I took Tim Holtz Alcohal Inks (caramel, latte and eggplant) and an applicator and dapped the tile. After it dried I stamped it with brown Staz-0n Ink and used the corner of Tim's optimist photograph stamp. I sprayed over the tile with a clear spray. I felt it needed something else so I added one of Tim's typecharms, I stamped the face image and cut it out with a 1/2" circle punch. I then added a few beads and a lobster claw. I made 21 of these for the swap and I hope they are all happy with them. I can't wait to see what I get back. The rules were you had to use one Tim Holtz item, not including the ink, it was a lot of fun. I'll post what I get in return in a couple of weeks. Have a great day and thanks again for following me. This was the view out my window this morning! I haven't seen this much snow at one time in along time. My husband went out and shoveled the porch and his back was killing him. So he caved in and bought a snow-blower. Yeah!!! It would have killed us all shoveling all that snow. School is called off again for tomorrow. But at least now we can get out of our driveway.

I'M BACK!!

Hi everyone, Happy Thanksgiving (what's left of it) I hope you all had a good day and had lots to be thankful for. I have so much to be thankful for this year.

But right now I'm thankful that the musical is over. YES!! It was a lot of work clothing all those kids, but it was well worth all the time we put into it. It turned out Wonderful! It was called Hairspray, here's a picture of the whole group and one of my daughter in one part of the play called the Big Doll House. She was the matron in the prison and did a fabulous job. I'm so proud of her. You can click on the pictures to make them larger. Since it's all over I actually had time to make a layout, I need your help with a title. I can't think of one. This summer we went on vacation and stopped at Cumberland Falls. We always take the kids pictures in this cool hollow tree. My daughter and her cousins love going there and posing for pictures. I like the way the layout turned out, but cannot think of a title. Help!

I haven't posted anything in a long time! I volunteered to help with costumes in a musical play at my daughters high school. I thought I'd have to spend a few days shopping, wrong! It ended up being me and another lady, clothing 75 kids. YIKES! I'm getting to know all the second hand stores very well.
The play is Hairspray the musical, and my daughter plays the matron in the Big Doll House. The play takes place in the 60's it's going to be really cute. My daughter is a senior and hasn't tried out for a play since grade school. She was thrilled to get this part, I'm happy for her. It's been a lot of work, but fun also. I'm taking the day off and going to an all day scrap Saturday so I'll post something then. I'm still checking out all the blogs I'm following daily. Have a great day, Shari

My daughter doesn't go trick or treating any more, she's 17. But the last couple of years her honors society has gone trick or treating for canned goods for a local rescue mission here in town. Her and her friend made Rubik's cubes yesterday down in my craft room. I think they turned out pretty cute! Of course Maggie (our dog) had to get in on the action. Happy Halloween Everyone! Shari

Here are a couple of cards I made recently. The apron card I made for my wonderful niece Bekah, she sewed me a homemade apron and sent it to me from Georgia where she is stationed in the Army. Thanks so much Bekah, I love it, and I love you.

The owl card I made for Enfys going-buggy.blogspot.com I won some blog candy from her and used some of the supplies she sent me to make a thank-you card. If you've never been to Enfys blog, check it out, she lives part of the year in the UK and part in the States. She sent me some wonderful UK goodies. The roses are from a cuttlebug folder called roses, the papers she sent me are so pretty, the pictures don't do it justice. Thanks Enfys!

Grunge Purse Tutorial

I had some people asking questions on how I made my Grunge Paper Purse. I originally published it on my blog on July 27th post.( You can scroll down to that post for more details.)

I'm going to attempt to do a tutorial on how I made it. I've never done a tutorial before but I will attempt it.
I free handed this purse template after seeing purse patterns on cricut cartridges, they were all so tiny and I wanted something I could actually carry.

The purse dimensions assembled are 5 1/4" high, 10" wide and 2" deep.

I used 2 sheets of 12 x 12 Tim Holtz grunge paper.

Here is the template that I free handed: The over-all size of this piece is, 12x12 (picture on left)

Hopefully you can click on the pictures to make them larger to see the dimensions.

The next piece I cut is the lid of the purse:
This piece is, 9 1/8" x 9 3/4" overall.

I used a punch and scalloped the flap of the purse.

For the sides, I cut 2

After the purse was cut out of the gunge paper, I inked it with TH distress ink. (before putting it together.)

The next 2 pictures show how the purse is put together after it is folded.

To assemble the purse I used a paper piercer to poke holes where I wanted the brads to go.

This picture shows what the sides look like folded. Before I put the side pieces over them, I slipped a round metal ring in the top flap of the side to hold the handle. Then I attached the sides down. For added durability I also used glue along with the brads.

Don't go by the holes on the pattern, I would suggest you put the purse together, then mark where you want the holes.

The next 3 pictures are of the finished purse.
The stamping was done with Stazon Ink before the purse was assembled.

I used a tape measure for the handle

I added lace on the front flap

For the flowers: I made them out of old books and my cricut. I inked them and

added glossy accents to each petal before assembling.

The clock face and tag were cut out of TH paper and topped with glossy accents.

The tag was cut with grunge paper and stamped and inked. Held on with TH swivel clasps.

I know I've made this more confusing than it really was, but it's hard for me to explain. I hope this answered some of your questions, don't hesitate to ask if you have more questions. For those of you who are computer savey, feel free to make a gypsy file. I don't know how to open a file let alone make one.

A few of my favorite things, PLAQUE

This is what I've been working on. I took a wood plaque that I bought on clearance at Hobby Lobby for $2. and painted it brown. The large dress form on the right is My Minds Eye paper (lost and found) Along the bottom I used a Tim Holtz measuring tape. The iron fence is a Halloween Martha Stewart punch I cut the little bats off of.

The other dress form is a stamp from Oxford Impressions (the dressmaker) I stamped it on canvas and frayed the edges and inked them to age it a little. I put lace along the top edge.

I cut the flowers from Tim Holtz tattered floral die and the leaves from his tattered leaves die. I cut them out of grunge paper. On one of them I stamped the text first then used Tim Holtz distress inks and colored them. I added old buttons in the center and a few feathers to top them off. I used Tim Holtz swivel clasps to hold some charms I made out of his fragments. The paper behind them are also Tim Holtz.

I've never entered any challenges before but I really like the way this turned out, I think I will enter it in a couple of challenges.

I think it will qualify for the Practical Scrappers challenge. Distressing.

Here is a card I made with one of my new stamps that I won from ead designs. This is Melody, paper makeup stamp. I'm not very good at the coloring of images, but I tried. I used copic markers and prisma colored pencils. The paper is Tim holtz. I didn't add a sentiment, I wasn't sure what I wanted it for, I'll add it when I decide to use it. Let me know what you think. I just want to share a card I made this weekend for my brother in laws birthday. His nickname is Unk and he turned 70. I used some Tim Holtz papers, scrabble tiles, and a bingo number with a hole drilled in it.

We had a busy weekend with his birthday party and homecoming so I didn't get alot done. Shari

First of all Happy National Card Making day, a little late.
We spent the whole day today at UofM for Tech day. What a long day, lots of walking and cool wet weather. My daughter loves this place, I hope she's accepted or I think she'll be crushed. We had a nice dinner at Chili's and then went to IKEA. My feet are killing me! (It was worth it, I love this store) We left at 6am and got home after 9pm.

Wow two posts in one week!

I must be sick. Ha! I made a few cards in the last couple of days and thought I'd share them. The first cards I made are for an anniversary party for my dear cousin and her husband. They are celebrating their 50th on Sunday. I always make double to use on another occasion. I cut the 50's on my cricut, used some old lace and the cakes are Jolee's boutique dimensional stickers I got on clearance. The little flowers are prima, I also got on clearance.

The next cards I made were for my two nieces who just had baby boys. I used flower soft for the first time on these tiny little flowers. You can click on the pic. to see the flowers better. I stamped the buggy and colored it with prisma color pencils, then added glossy accents to the buggy and wheels. The baby bottle is a dimensional sticker from Jolee's boutique. I added the ribbon and pearl brads. I also made 2 but only took pics. of 1. What do you think?

Wow, It's about time don't you think? Lately I've been in a funk and have no ambition to make anything. And when I do what to make something, life seems to get in the way.

Well last night I attended a U-Stream live with Laura Denison. Check out her blog : following the paper trail . blogspot.com

(I just love her projects, she has so much talent.)

So today I decided to give the wreath she was making a try. The sun flower pieces were all cut by hand, pleated and inked, the flowers were cut with the Tim Holtz die, tattered florals. The leaves were all cut on my cricut and also inked. I think it will look cute hanging on my front door, what do you think? You know I love your comments!

Ok, I admit it, I haven't been very creative. I hoped I would have got alot done this week but once again life gets in the way. I did get a chance to try the masking technique that Jennifer McGuire had a

video on. I stamped the dress maker image and used glossy

accents, let dry. Then I inked the tag. Pretty cute huh?

Since I haven't been very creative I thought I would share MY version of the Inksentials craft spinner, shown here.

I found a rack at a store going out of business and this is my version. I drilled holes in my ink blender tools and ran a piece of leather thru them. I hung clips to hold my

daubers on and labeled each color. Now I have a blending tool and dauber for my most frequently used colors, and I don't have to switch pads. I love it, it's very handy.

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting. I've been babysitting for my cousin and her husband while they are in Ireland and I also went camping for 4 days up north. The camping was great, we had a few thunderstorms but we got a lot of boating in. My parents and brother and family and sister and family all went, so we spent some great family time together. I have 2 more days with the kids staying at their house then I can get back home and hopefully get some crafting done. Hopefully I'll have something to share soon. Take care, Shari

Hello everyone! I though I'd share a few cards I made last night with you.

My sweet cousin Tricia sent me a package yesterday with all kinds of rubber stamps. Thank you Tricia, your too sweet! I made a few cards with them last night.

My daughter says I'm nuts! I made a purse out of grunge paper

Yes, she thinks I've lost it, Why would you make a purse out of paper? Because I can, was my answer. I'm loving this Tim Holtz grunge paper. It reminds me so much of leather, I can't quit using it.

It took me some time, but I figured out how to make a purse pattern, I wanted something big enough to use and the cricut would only cut little purses. This purse is made with 2 sheets of 12x12 grunge paper. It measures 5 1/4" high x 10"wide x 2" thick. I inked it with Tim Holtz distress inks. The purse is tea dye and the edges are vintage photo.

I bought this Awesome set of rubber stamps by Oxford Impressions at my local SS and stamped images all over the purse. I took a couple of images from Tim Holtz paper and cut them out and used glossy accents on them. I made the flowers out of old piano books and used glossy accents on them also. I used old lace on the front, a magnet closure and added a Tim Holtz swivel clasp with a key and a tag I made out of the grunge paper. I'm not sure about the tape measure for the handle, what do you think?

I also think it needs more, possibly my initials out of scrabble tiles on the back? More charms etc. I'd love your opinion, and I love your comments.

I probably will use it occasionally with just a few things in it. HA!

I made some more Neck Pouches today. I went to my local scrapbooking store and got some Tim Holtz Grunge Paper. This stuff is wonderful, after inking it, it reminds me of leather. My favorite is the one with the clock on the front. I cut it out of graphic 45 paper and used glossy accents to make it shiny. I've been playing around tonight making a Neck Pouch. Laura from Following the paper trail, had this cool idea posted on her blog today for What's up Wednesday. She is so super talented, if you've never been to her blog before you have to check it out.

I wanted to try this, but didn't have any Grunge paper. That's what Laura used. I made a prototype with cereal boxes covered with paper. It a little too stiff, so I'm off to find some grunge paper tomorrow to make another one.

What do you do with these? Well, Laura had her purse stolen recently at a scrappin event, and came up with this Grunge Paper Neck Pouch to wear around her neck to hold her money, credit card and i.d.

I decorated my first paint can! My cousins are here from Washington and we had a paint can decorating party. It was alot of fun, there were nine of us, we ate and decorated paint cans. Thanks Pat and Tricia for showing us how to do this!!!

I've been saving this paper, it was to pretty to use. It is prima (strawberry kisses collection, the flowers are prima and the butterflies are k & co. I put a key on the side with a Tim Holtz swivel clasp and shrunk a stamped image of a dress form to put on it. Let me know if you like it. Shari

We're Home!

What a long drive! (The worst part of the vacation. )It's good to be home and see my Maggie Mae, she looks like she's grown in the 11 days we were gone.

I thought I'd show you what I did in the car on the way down and back. My 17 yr. old daughter drove a good portion of the trip, my husband rode in the front with her.I sat in the back seat and made FLOWERS! I crocheted and made ribbon flowers, here are some of the trays I did. This is me in the backseat showing my flowers. Click on the picture to see the image larger. I'm stocked up for a while. HA!

OUR LAST NIGHT

Tonight is our last night in Savannah! Bummer, our vacation is coming to a close. We spent the last two days on Tybee Island at the Ocean. Beautiful!!! It was so relaxing, we swam, boogie boarded and even saw dolphins. I had never seen a dolphin before and was so surprised to see them at what seemed like 20 ft. from us swimming. IT WAS AWESOME!!!
We're starting our drive home in the a.m. We'll take 2 days to get from Georgia to Michigan. (16
hour drive, YUCK Our vacation was fabulous, I took lots of pictures and will do some layouts and post pics. when I get home.
I'm really looking forward to seeing my little girl Maggie Mae, (our dog) I've really missed her. I'll talk to Y'all (ha!) when I get back home. Shari

I wanted to wish everyone a happy 4th of July. We're having a great time on our vacation. The fireworks were awesome on Stone Mountain! Best I've ever seen!!!! I hope you all had a great weekend. We're off to the Aquarium in the a.m. and then off to Savannah. What a great vacation, the family reunion was fabulous, I got to visit with a lot of relatives I haven't seen in a long time. A couple last minute projects

I made my cousin a bouquet today for hosting the reunion on the 4th of July. I also decided to finish up another family mini book, like the one in an earlier post. It was a busy, busy day, packing and fitting in these projects. One more day to work and then we leave tomorrow evening and I can relax for 10 days. I've been told that there is an Archivers and AC Moore where we are going in Georgia. I've never been to either and am excited to check them out while vacationing. REUNION FAVORS

We're leaving Tuesday for a family reunion in Georgia. I got this bright idea of making favor bags for everyone. This is what I've been doing all day. I made 40 toppers and my wonderful sister helped me stuff them. I used the cricut with the markers and put Pierson (my mom's family name) on the back and decorated the front. The reunion is on the 4th. 1 job I'm glad to be done with! Leave me a comment, I love comments! Shari

My Father's Day Card

This is the card I made for my dad. He's been a fisherman for years. He truely is #1 dad. HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD, I love you.
I used my gypsy and Animal Kingdom cartridge, I copy and pasted the fish and flipped it, I then welded it to make the card. I cut it out of kraft cardstock, the layer was cut with Tim Holtz lost and found paper. I ran it thru the cuttlebug with the houndstooth folder to make it look like fish scales. I inked all the edges. I used a Tim Holtz memo pin to hold the #1 dad sign. The eye is a tiny google eye. Let me know if you like it. Shari

Hello everyone!
Finally I got a chance to get some scrapping done. I recently won a RAK from Robin and told her I'd make something with some of the many goodies she sent me. Here it is Robin. I used the chipboard accent tree, the friend layered sticker, the metal accents for the centers of the flowers, some of the pretty blue buttons and finally I embossed the bird with the antique linen embossing powder and used glossy accents on top. I'm in another swap on the cricut message board. This one is home-made flowers. I send 5 flowers for 8 people and I get 40 back. I finally finished them and sent them out today, I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with.
I'm going to the Special Olympics tomorrow morning for a couple of days. My nephew Jeff has Down Syndrome and will be bowling, I'm going to cheer him on. Maybe now that my flowers are done I'll get some crafting done next week. Have a great weekend everyone!! Shari

Sorry I haven't posted in so long. I've been busy with my Garage Sale. I was up at 2a.m. making Garage Sale signs. It was pretty quick too. I used my Gypsy and typed in what I wanted on my sign. Removed the blade from my cricut and replaced it with a marker. After that was done I took a wide marker and colored it in. They look much nicer than the signs you can buy. I have another day tomorrow of my Sale and then were going up north for a couple of days to enjoy the Memorial Weekend. Shari

My take on My Pink Stampers card

While blog hopping this afternoon, I saw a cute card that MY PINK STAMPER had made for a graduation. You can check out her video and card here: http://www.mypinkstamper.com/
I really liked it and wanted to try it. First I didn't have any silver paper, so I got creative and used TIN FOIL, I embossed it with the Houndstooth folder I found at Big Lots for $2.oo. Pink Stamper used Locker Talk for her Graduation Cap. I don't have that cart so I found this one on A Child's Year and cut it at 3" using the icon button.
The ladies at my local scrap booking store showed me how they have been using Shrink Plastic Film, rubber stamps, stazOn ink and a heat gun to make little charms. I've been having so much fun making these, and I wanted to somehow incorporate one into this card. I don't have alot of rubber stamps and of course didn't have a Congratulations sentiment.( I definately need to shop for more rubber stamps.) So I settled for the Celebrate rubber stamp inside of a dollar stamp from Michael's. Of course it didn't show up on the black or silver so I used a little tag and attached it with twine. I really like how it turned out. Here is a picture of some of the other charms I've done. Click on the picture for a larger view. Sorry about the glare, it was hard to photograph the tin foil. BABY SHOWER GIFTS

I had a baby shower today and one next weekend. I like to add something personalized to go along with my gift, here's what I came up with. I got the white pig banks at Hobby Lobby and used vinyl to add the polka dots and names. I got the frames at Michael's and etched the names on the front with Storybook cart. I worked on this layout for hours this evening. Here it is 3 a.m. and I finally finished it. I think it was worth all the time I put into it, I'm quite pleased with the end results.
This picture was taken almost 17 years ago on the day my daughter was born. I don't know if it's because she's growing up so fast or what, but lately I want to scrap older pictures. My baby is soon to be a senior in high school, YIKES!
The print paper I used is K & Co and the solid is the mariposa card stock stack. My wonderful friend found me a scrabble game at a second hand store so I used some of the tiles in this layout. The flowers I made out of silk, with the heat gun and put a pearl in the center. (I'm having so much fun making these flowers) I tied some jute in places to add a little something, a bit of lace, inked the edges and called it a night.

Here are a few projects that I made for my niece's 7th birthday. Her dad and her have been raising bees for the honey. They just started a few months ago and she is so into this. I won the Sentimentals cartridge from lil green bug recently and saw the bee and knew what I'd work on first. I bought a metal sign from the dollar store and painted it. I used vinyl and Sentimentals and Don Juan cart. I also bought a water bottle from the dollar store and personalized that for her. Of course I had to make a card to match! I love this cart! This is the first time I tried to layer vinyl and it's not perfect, it's harder to do than I thought it would be. Let me know what you think. You know I love your comments. Shari

Here is a card I made to use in a challenge that lilgreenbug is doing on her blog. She has a video on how to make satin dried lolipop roses. I've been wanting to try it, but didn't have any satin. Today I decided I'd make do with what I had. I used a old satin scarf that I had because it was the only thing I could find with that material. I used all scraps on this card and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. It's bright and cheery! The roses are really easy to do with your heat gun, and I will definately get the right materials and do some more. First I'd like to note that I hit 200....... followers, WOW, amazing. Thanks so much to all my followers, you motivate me to craft.
This is my last ATC I made, I was in 2 different groups. This group was Vintage ATC's, red, pink and or purple. As you can see, once again I incorporated the dress form.(I'm including a picture of my favorite dress form.) Yes I love... dress forms. I collect rhinestone jewelry and pin them all over it. For the ATC, I printed off a vintage music picture off the Internet, used graphic 45 paper for the dress form image, inked the edges and added pearls. I'm in my first ATC swap on the cricut message board. Here's a sneak peak. I didn't even know what a ATC was but figured out it's Artist Trading Card. I hope this is what they want, I don't want to disappoint anyone. This group was Vintage ATC's, Black, white,or gray and one other color. This is what I came up with (I just love dress forms so I wanted to incorporate it into this card. I have one more group to do yet, they are not due until May 20th.

I used DCWV Maraposa paper, scalloped border punch, old lace, k&co butterfly & cork stamped with a stampin up stamp. The finished card size is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.

The paper I used is graphic45 Le'Romantique Collection. I used prima flowers with old buttons for the centers. A strip of old lace and a butterfly from K & Company. I welded the word Beauty on my gypsy and cut the circles on my cricut.This picture is of my daughter 15 years ago, she was in a beuty pageant and won! Click on the picture to make it larger.

This is a gourd I wood burned on. (pyrography) Now and then I pick up the wood burner and play around. Here is a gourd I cut the top off of and cleaned out. I burned the images in the gourd after using tracing paper and my image. I painted the flowers to add a little color and used shellac on the whole thing. The top is laced with leather. Someone asked where I got my patterns to trace on the gourds. I looked high and low, coloring books, craftbooks at the library etc. But I finally found a book called: Designs and Patterns for Embroiderers and craftspeople.(512 Motifs from the Wm. Briggs and Company Ltd. Album of Transfer Patterns. I hope this helps.

I made this to go on the wall in Deni's room

My cousins family went on vacation in New York. When she showed me the pictures, I knew I had to have copies to do something in Deni's room. My 16 yr. old daughter loves anything to do with travel.
I used Mosaic Moments Grid paper and cut the pictures in 1" squares. I love how it turned out. Eventually I'd like to get a nicer frame for it, but this will do for now. Click on pics. to make larger! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Shari

I thought I'd share how I cricut'ed my daughters bedroom. She picked the colors on the wall and I helped her paint. She loves anything to do with travel and wanted a travel theme in the room.
I cut the letters out of wall pops and used different fonts for them. She loves it!! And it was very easy to do. Let me know what you think. Shari

We bought a new boat last summer. We took it out on the river one Sunday afternoon. My daughter was sitting in the front of the boat holding our fur baby, having a good time. The Sheriff pulled us over. They pulled along side of our boat and laughed. He said "I'm so embarrassed, I thought she was holding a baby in her arms! We all got a laugh out of it and of course I told him I had to have a picture to scrap. He also made my daughter put a life jacket on, that is why she's pouting in the pic. Lighthouse Layout

This is one of the layout's I made yesterday at my all day scrap. We had a great time, I'll post this one now. I haven't taken pictures of the other stuff I did yet.
I used Life's a Beach cricut cart. on this one. The lighthouse was cut at 9" and cuttlebugged with the tiny mosaic folder. The castle was cut at 2 1/2". I ripped to different colors of paper and inked them for the sand. The family fun cut had fish on it, but I cut them off.

I made a couple of Detached Bookmark Cards for the first time tonight. I learned how to do the actual card fold from Dawn at: dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com
The card is cut at 4 1/4" x 11" it is scored at 4 1/2" and 8 5/8". The right hand side is made so you can tear it off and use it as a bookmark.
I cut the fairy and the Mom and bunny at 2 1/2" . The girl with the basket is cut at 3 1/2" and the girl with the bird is cut at 3". All the cuts are from the cricut cart: A Childs Year. I Finally Finished My 1st Mini Album

We're having a family reunion in July, I thought I would try making a mini album with my bind-it-all I got for Christmas. This is my mom's family her sister and brothers. I added the names of all their kids and grandkids and their birthdays to each page. I'm going to give it as the door prize at the reunion.
I used Graphic-45 papers for most of the album. The front and back cover are from another stack.(I'm not sure the name of it.)
I used cereal boxes and cut them 6" x 6". I tried to give most everything a vintage feel, Inking the edges of all the paper. The only cricut cuts are the scalloped circles and on the last page, I cut MEMORIES. CLICK ON THE PICTURE TO MAKE IT LARGER.
I'm not sure about the ribbon and fiber. Also I don't know how I should decorate the cover, should I add flowers? Let me know what you think, I love comments! Shari

Papertrey Ink Challenge

This is day 13 in the celebration for Papertrey Ink. I decided to create something for today's challenge. The challenge was to design a floral project and an embellishment sheet to go along with it, so the recipient can have some fun embellishments to create there own project.
I crocheted some cute little flowers and made a card with one. They are so fun and quick to whip up (thanks grandma for teaching me to crochet when I was little).

I cut these cards at 4"x11" and scored at 1"- 2 5/8"- 3 5/8"- 5 1/2" flipped and
scored the other side in the same incriminates. You need to cut a slit at the 5" point. The part that pops up is cut at 3" x 5" and matted twice. I used my cuttlebug to add some interest on the front with coordination's paper then sanded it.
Folded, these cards will fit in a A2 envelope. They really aren't that difficult but her video is very helpful.

I made a couple of Easel cards tonight. Southernbellescrapper had a tutorial on her blog on how to make these cute cards. I tried it tonight and they turned out really cute. Here's one of them.

I cut my card at 12" x 5 1/2" and scored it at 4 1/4" and 8 1/2"

I used Accent Assentials and Store Front cartridges. I cut the lg. scallop from AA at 3" and 2 1/2" . I cut the cricut head at 2". I used dimensionals to pop it up, added ribbon and another scallop at the bottom for the card to rest,(also popped up with dimensionals.)
